The Trainer’s EDGE is the second step in Scouting America's Train the Trainer series of courses and builds upon skills learned in Fundamentals of Training. It is required for those staffing Wood Badge and National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT). It can also be very beneficial for others desiring to improve their training and presentation skills (not only within Scouting).
This course is intended to help participants to fully understand the EDGE (Explain, Demonstrate, Guide, Enable) training model and an opportunity to gain self-confidence through hands-on experiences. Practice is the best way to improve training and presentation skills and Trainer's EDGE allows attendees to present in front of a small group and receive feedback to help them improve. It also allows them to practice giving the gift of feedback in a positive helpful environment.
Come prepared to present a 5-7 minute presentation on any Scouting material (including Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, Venturing, and Exploring).
