NRA Pistol Instructor

This weekend workshop is intended to develop the Knowledge, Skills, and Attitude necessary to plan and instruct BSA Pistol Shooting programs and NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting.   Successful completion of this program will qualify candidates as NRA Pistol Instructors, which is required to supervise BSA Pistol shooting activities.  Pistol shooting is an approved activity for Venturing and Sea Scouts.   Scouts BSA units may participate in Pistol Shooting at select BSA Long-Term Camps.  Washington Crossing Council does not participate in Scouting Pistol Safety and Marksmanship Program. This will all be accomplished with a three day (one weekend) intense program which includes Basic Rifle, Basic Instructor Training, and Instructor Rifle.  Lodging is available and meals will be included.

NRA Shotgun Instructor

This weekend workshop is intended to develop the Knowledge, Skills, and Attitude necessary to plan and instruct BSA Shotgun shooting programs, merit badges, and NRA Basics of Shotgun Shooting.   Successful completion of this program will qualify candidates as NRA Shotgun Instructors, which is required to supervise BSA Shotgun shooting activities. This will all be accomplished with a three day (one weekend) intense program which includes Basic Rifle, Basic Instructor Training, and Instructor Rifle.  Lodging is available and meals will be included.

Class capacity: 12
Must be at least 15 years old to register. Ineligible registrations will not receive a 100% refund.

NRA Range Safety Officer

This one day workshop is intended to develop NRA Certified Range Safety Officers who possess the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to organizing, conducting, and supervising safe shooting activities and range operations. An NRA certified range safety officer (RSO) is required to provide live firing range supervision for all shooting activities involving Scouts BSA, Venturers, and Sea Scouts. All live fire activities require one or more range safety officers to be present on the range, in addition to NRA Certified Instructors.  All RSO candidates must be at least 21 years of age.

Must be at least 21 years old to register. Ineligible registrations will not receive a 100% refund.

NRA BSA CO-OP Muzzleloading Rifle Instructor

This is a BSA-specific course intended for leaders interested in teaching scouts the basics of shooting muzzleloading percussion rifles. Successful completion of this program will qualify candidates as NRA Instructors for Co-op Muzzleloading Rifle,a requirement (along with an NRA Range Safety Officer) to conduct BSA Muzzleloading programs as well as function as a merit badge counselor for Rifle Shooting Merit Badge using the Muzzleloading option.

This will all be accomplished with a three day (one weekend) intense program which includes Basic Muzzleloading Rifle, Basic Instructor Training, and Instructor Muzzleloading Rifle. Lodging is available and lunch will be provided each day.

NRA Rifle Instructor Course

This weekend workshop is intended to develop the Knowledge, Skills, and Attitude necessary to plan and instruct BSA rifle shooting programs, merit badges, and NRA Basics of Rifle Shooting.   Successful completion of this program will qualify candidates as NRA Rifle Instructors, which is required to supervise BSA rifle shooting activities.  NRA certified Rifle Instructors are also qualified to supervise Cub Scout BB shooting programs and serve as counselors for Rifle Shooting Merit Badge. This will all be accomplished with a three day (one weekend) intense program which includes Basic Rifle, Basic Instructor Training, and Instructor Rifle.  Lodging is available and meals will be included.
